Day 40
Did manage to break out of the group just today. Been hiking with spoon man which has been ok, minus the smoking. Drew said he’s coming which is so weird, my face broke out something terrible which adds to my stress. I imagined a nice day off in a hostel like we had been in before, but none to be found. Vermont has these brutal endless ups and downs that you just feel your tendons burning like crazy.
I’m alone right off the trail by a stream. It’s weird but kind of nice. Trying the new tarp for the second night, but thinking it’s a no go considering poor Indy got soaked last night.
He did great today and even has energy to go on tonight, which blew my mind a bit. Cooler I guess, but a good thing! His nail looks rough but I try to keep at it every day so it doesn’t get infected. No service but hoping to have a good chat with Naddy tomorrow night. Then killington to send stuff home, thank god.
